Charles Oliveira makes huge injury admission following UFC 309 win… ‘I spent 20 days without training properly’
Charles Oliveira has made a huge injury revelation after scoring an impressive victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 309 last Saturday.
After deciding to take another fight rather than wait any longer for Conor McGregor's return, Michael Chandler got a huge rematch against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309.
The 38-year-old was reportedly told by the UFC that if he could get past 'Do Bronx' he would finally get an undisputed lightweight title.

Charles Oliveira reports a huge injury after victory over Michael Chandler
Unfortunately for 'Iron' Mike, the former champion showed why he is still a major threat at the top of the lightweight division after dominating Chandler for nearly five rounds and cruising to a decisive victory.
Several times during their five-round co-main event it looked like the Brazilian would secure a finish, but Chandler's grittiness kept him in the fight until the end.
With that, Chandler came extremely close to securing a finish in the final round with what appeared to be a flurry of illegal blows to the back of Oliveira's head, which he has since expressed his frustration about.
Despite his highly impressive performance, Oliveira has since revealed that he suffered a serious injury during his fight and was unable to train for weeks in the lead-up.
“I didn't want to talk about it because if we lose it will be taken as an excuse,” Oliveira began to explain to UFC Fight Pass Brazil.
“When we win, we appreciate it. But I had a knee injury. I have torn or burst two ligaments. I would be out for four to six weeks. But I didn't want to withdraw from this fight at all, because I knew that if I won, I could fight for the title again.
“I had to do physiotherapy every day, try to train with the pain, but I practically spent 15 to 20 days without training properly. I just really focused on strength training, that was all I could do. But God blessed me a lot and everything turned out fine,” Oliveira continued.
Charles Oliveira wants a front row seat for Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan
After his impressive victory over Chandler, 'Do Bronx' is hopeful he has secured the next lightweight title.
Current champion Islam Makhachev will defend his position against Arman Tsarukyan, with rumors swirling that the fight will take place in January.
With that, Oliveira hopes he can have a front row seat for that fight to see which fighter he will ultimately rematch for the title.
“I want to be a champion, everyone knows this, I'm just taking a few days off since the boss told you he's coming to pick me up, I'll be right there,” Oliveira said in the post-fight press conference.
Oliveira has previously discussed potentially being the one to welcome McGregor to the Octagon, but he is not interested in the Irishman.
“This is the guy who runs the most in the UFC, this fight is not going to happen. Would it make sense? Yes. Would it be a good fight? Yes. We both sell fights well, but he chooses his opponents, this fight is not happening,” the former champion continued.
