A recent result has given the former UFC -Bantam weight champion Sean O'Malley another boost in confidence.
O'Malley was submitted by Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 316 in June. The result marked his second consecutive loss for the current champion, with 'Sugar' earlier in September 2024 by the Georgian was not seated by the Georgian.
Despite the fact that O'Malley eliminated the most important distractions from his life, the recent defeat recovered from the torn Labrum that he had contracted prior to the fight of the couple, and enjoying the kind of full camp he did not have before UFC 306 last year.
Given that he was still unable to take care of Dvalishvili in the cage, many have written off every chance of the American when the couple ever met in a trilogy.
Sean O'Malley self -confident third time is the charm against Merab Dvalishvili
In a recent video posted on his X account, O'Malley called the third defense of Dvalishvili a “mint Flip” while looking ahead to the next fight in the division he used to reign.
Although he is firmly out of the title photo for the time being, 'Suga' will still be aware of the UFC 320 Co-Main event in October, perhaps in the hope that a shock victory for Cory Sandhagen will be the way for a faster than expected return to a championship fight.
Even if 'The Sandman' falls short, however, O'Malley still believes that he can be the one who stops 'the machine'. Although he admitted that this could be a “delusion” theory, the resident of Montana pointed to the recent victory of Max Holloway on Dustin Poirier as proof that sometimes three attempts are needed to defeat a rival.
“I really believed that I would go outside and make Merab stupid,” said O'Malley about his defeat in Newark.
“I am still so delusional performances that I still think I can beat Merab.
“Max Holloway defeated Dustin in his third fight, lost the first two. So never say never,” O'Malley added.
Sean O'Malley has reversed the changes he has made for the Merab Dvalishvili Rematch reversed
A few weeks after UFC 316, O'Malley turned the lifestyle changes that he has applied for UFC 316.
'Suga' eliminated marijuana and high social media activities in the run-up to his title challenge. But now in the past, O'Malley announced that he is back to his former self.
“Okay guys, the last six months I have been completely out of social media,” O'Malley said in a video about his Instagram stories. “I wasn't really making much content.
“But I feel rejuvenated. I feel that I am enthusiastic to make content again. So we are going to post a lot of content. I have a new company.
“I am excited to start the creative juices,” O'Malley added.
