Ruben Amorim has claimed that he is more than happy to start the Premier League season with the team he has at Manchester United, even though they only add two new signing sessions
Ruben Amorim has sustained that if he started the season with his current team, he would be “happy” and the Manchester United -Hierarchy “to be careful” for the sign even more players this summer.
The Portuguese boss has seen only two new faces coming in recent months – Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Otherwise he lags behind the team that ended the 15th in the Premier League previous term – a low low for the Red Devils.
Amorim has not been able to land the striker it has been reported that he wants, while he does not yet have to sign specialized wing backs that will help his system. However, the former sporting Lisbon boss has had the opportunity to work consistently on the training field, which he had not offered last season.
But an attempt to close the gap to the leading parties of the country is expected to sign more than two new players, but Amorim claims that he is happy with what he has.
He said during the tour of the club: “At the moment we have to be careful when we sign a player. When I start the season with this team, I will be happy.”
The club recently closed a deal for Mbeumo after negotiating with Brentford for weeks before their third bid was finally accepted. Earlier in the summer they were able to land Cunha, due to a release clause in his wolven contract.
United has become wrong in the past from signing players who have not produced. Amorim clearly wants to avoid a repeat, but believes that the group he has currently developed has developed a household name. He claimed: “You feel the bond between the players in the best teams. We remind ourselves how special it is to be at the best club in the world. I really like being in a group that is healthy. We are going to suffer, but that feeling of bonding is really important. The mind is positive.”
As things stand, United will have to stay with Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee as their frontman, unless Amorim chose to play with Cunha or Mbeumo.
Deals were investigated for people like Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, but Manchester's outfit was quickly told that the England international was not for sale. PSG's Randal Kolo Muani and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic were also considered as according to ESPN.
Although Alexander Isak expressed the wish to look for a relocation of Newcastle who did not consider in Old Trafford to participate in the race for the Swedish star.
All newcomers may require that United first sells one or more of their players. Currently there are a number of people who are confronted with uncertain future in Manchester and are looking for the starting door. Marcus Rashford was able to secure a loan movement to Barcelona this week.
Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are also open to leaving the club, but Amorim claimed that unless their ratings are met, they will stay at United for the foreseeable.
He said: “Some players have to move to make room in the team, others want a new challenge. We give them time to think and if they reach a point where they should come to the team, they will.
“Omar and Jason have a song for these players, if that is not achieved, they will be united players. I am ready to receive the players. I have more options and if they have to fight each other to play, that's perfect.”
