Man United ‘scout 6ft 5in CB compared to Rodri as Maguire’s long-term successor’

Manchester United is said to explore a dominant 6ft 5 in Norwegian center-back that could be the long-term replacement of Harry Maguire.

With the 32-year-old who starts the last year of his United contract, it is thought that Ruben Amorim and United Bosses are already looking for his successor.

The Red Devils sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old Wonderkid Eivind Helland of the Norwegian side, earlier this month when he got his way on Viking Stavanger.

The Center half is described as a commander defender, whose dominance in aerial photos gives him a 'strong presence', according to the former Premier League player Jan Age Fjortoft.

Compared to Ballon d'Or Winner Rodri by his manager at the start of the season, Helland's captain of Norway under the age of 21 in a 4-0 win over Wales in June.

But as United to secure the services of the young person, they must beat the competition of some of the largest clubs in Europe.

Only a few weeks after United Scouts made the trip to Scandinavia, Bayern Munich followed the example, with German scouts who looked Helland and his side 2-0 at Kfum in Oslo on the weekend.

Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg – Two clubs with a reputation for discovering part of the best talent of the continent – also keep an eye on the situation, according to the sun.

But the links from United came to Norwegian talent after Ruben Amorim had admitted that the club should be 'careful' about making signing sessions and say that he would like to comment on next season with the team he has now collected.

The first summer of the former sporty Lisbon manager at the helm has seen their ranks so far with the signing sessions of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo.

But United fans will not want to see the doubt, with further additions, with the eagerness of the club to bring a striker, severely rumor.

Amorim said: 'I think our club should be really careful at the moment when we sign a player. So if we have to start the season with this team, I am happy. Because all players who are here want to be here, and that is the most important thing for me.

'With Bryan and Matheus we are clearly a better team. They can play as a striker. I am really happy because they have proven that the goals they have. They are really modest, that is really important.

'The best thing is that they chose to be here. They had other options, Champions League options. And they read everything people say about our club right now, but they chose to be here and that is an important point for me.

'They have other players who fight for that position. We have Josh (Zirkzee), we have Rasmus (Hojlund), so our focus is on improving the relationship between them. I don't know if the positions are there for them. They have to work. '

The Red Devils were supposed to have been interested in the Viktor Gyokeres, but the 27-year-old striker seems to seal a move to Arsenal.

In recent weeks, United has also been linked to movements for Premier League-Covered Frontmen Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson.

And in an attempt to replace the wrestling Andre Onana, United made a loan movement for Villa Keeper Emi Martinez earlier this week. However, Unai Emery and club officials have rejected the proposal.
