Chael Sonnen named surprise fighter who hit him harder than Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, or any other opponent

Former UFC star Chael Sonnen looked back on his legendary MMA career in April 2020.

Fedor Emeliansko, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones are just a few of the famous hunters he opposed to the fourth during his 49-bout career.

Chael Sonnen cut off all the obvious contenders when he called the opponent who hit him the loudest.

That honor went to an entry specialist who was known for struggling when fighting on the feet

Chael Sonnen took punch that hurt him the most

Demian Maia submitted Chael Sonnen within three minutes when they fought in February 2009.

A triangle choke is usually one of the least painful ways to lose an MMA fight, but that was not the case for Sonnen on UFC 95.

Before the submission, 'The American Gangster' was captured with the blow that he claims he has hurt more than any other he has ever taken.

“The most difficult I have ever touched, which did not mean that it was wearing more speed, was from Demian Maia,” Sonen said in a video that was shared with his YouTube.

“Demian Maia has disadvantaged me. He was on the care of the bottom, where you can't even generate much strength. I am at the top. He reaches as if he is going in for a kimura, and then he brings a backhand and just hits me in the face with a hindquarters.

“I remember that I heard a click. I remember that my jaw had hit so hard that I could hear him click.

“And that was over when the fight was over. The fight went for another two minutes, but I tell you that the fight was over.

“That was the most difficult I have ever been struck in terms of pain.”

Chael Sonnen predicts UFC 320 Main Event

Since he retires, Chael Sonnen has become a prominent voice in the MMA community.

The 48-year-old uses his social media platforms to discuss and debate the current ins and outs.

Of course he quickly shared his opinion after Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2 was confirmed to head UFC 320.

Sonnen told Pereira that he has no chance to beat Ankalaev when they rematch on October 4.

“Alex is not going to beat Ankalaev. This is a factual explanation,” he said.

“They have already fought. There was nothing in that competition that you would believe if we did it again, we are going to change the results.”
