Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has given an update on the future of Alexander Isak in the club in the midst of speculation that he will become a member of Liverpool.
Isak, 25, did not flown out to a tour of the Far East with his teammates after the transfer couplings.
Howe has now confirmed that he will not connect with the team, because the Newcastle -Baas now has to compete with the prospect to possibly lose his star player prior to the new campaign.
The update on the situation of the Magpies -Baas comes after Mail Sport Earlier this week exclusively revealed that Isak wants to explore a move of the club this summer.
The striker did not travel with the team during their pre-season tour through the Far East on Thursday after leaving the training with a dijing injury on Monday.
In a BOM development, however, Mail Sport revealed how the club's hierarchy is aware of the wish of Isak to consider his options this summer, where Liverpool prepares a British record offer.
The 25-year-old has three years to walk on his contract and Chief Executive Darren Eales said in March that a new deal would be discussed at the end of the season.
For the time being, however, Isak and his camp do not want to bind, with the interest of Liverpool their priority.
The owners of Newcastle and Howe do not want to sell and would be preferred to negotiate new conditions, even if that meant a move next summer.
That possibility continues to exist, since Newcastle is contractually in a strong position, but an offer of Liverpool or a club in the £ 150 million region, in combination with Isak's own wishes, could see a movement accelerate in the coming weeks.
Howe then said that Newcastle has a 'decision to make' about the future of Isak – but says it should be for the best of the club.
When asked if he wanted a quick resolution, the Boss of Newcastle said: “I would not put a time schedule on it. I think it should be suitable for the football club with these situations, and everything is then taken in context below.
'But the club will make the right decision with all the information it has, and ultimately to help the club move forward in any way. Then it is up to us to make good decisions the other way and to improve the team as well as possible. That is what we try to do, regardless of Alex's situation.
“But I think there is a wider photo here. There is a whole football club that has to make the decision. The ownership, together with the board of directors, especially with the money involved in modern transfers. The manager of course has an opinion, but in the end the decision with the board will rest. '
Howe also revealed that there are no contract interviews with Isak.
“As far as I know, I don't think contract interviews are taking place at the moment,” he said.
“That may be for a later date. I think that for now, with the situation as it is and the state of the window, in the sense that it touches very quickly towards the end of the window, from our perspective there is still so much that can happen. '
Liverpool seems to be favorites to sign the Swede, where Chelsea and Manchester United have excluded a movement for him.
World champions Chelsea are linked to Isak, but the blues hierarchy is happy with their current setup, including Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson, as well as the versatile Joao Pedro as an option in front.
The internal suspicion is that their name is used to increase a price on the 25-year-old striker.
Manager Enzo Maresca is planning to start rotation in the coming season, especially for managing workloads after their last long campaign, and Chelsea is supposed to not be appreciated that they are being associated with players they do not actively pursue to create an auction.
Man United has currently excluded a move for Isak and the number of other options for large money, including Jackson and Benjamin Sesko.
With the Sweden striker with an astronomical £ 150 million, United cannot compete with a potential bid from Liverpool and other Premier League rivals.
They have already spent more than £ 130 million this summer to Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, even though they would like to sign a new Center-Forward.
Jackson is also out of reach of United after he has been appreciated by Chelsea between £ 80-100 million, although there is still a possibility that a Swap deal with Alejandro Garnacho could be investigated.
Garnacho left the team of the first team in Carrington in the preseason in Carrington after being told to find a new club by head coach Ruben Amorim.
