Liverpool has agreed a deal to sell Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.
The total reimbursement for the deal is £ 65.5 million.
Diaz, who has been talking about his Liverpool contract for another two years, now has permission to leave the Asian tour of the club. He is currently in Tokyo with the team, but will try to travel for the next 24 hours.
Liverpool rejected the first claims of Bayern and an offer that was assumed to be in the £ 58.5 million (€ 67 million) region, but the German returned with a second offer of £ 65.4 million (€ 75 million) including add-ons.
The Reds have accepted the offer after they have protected what the club regards as a full market value.
During the summer, Liverpool was not willing to sell an important player in the first team, but Diaz and his representatives insisted on a movement. He first signaled a wish to leave in the summer of 2024, but the club held up while he rated both the team and the market.
Two separate attempts from Liverpool to agree that a contract extension failed due to a gap between offers and requirements.
Diaz came to Liverpool in January 2022 for a guaranteed payment of £ 37.5 million (€ 42.9 million), with a contract of five and a half years.
Slot: Diaz was omitted against AC Milan because of uncertain future
On Saturday, Liverpool -head coach Arne Slot confirmed that Diaz was omitted from the team to view AC Milan because of speculation around his future, but Darwin Nunez missed due to an injury.
“One of the positions we didn't have was no. 9,” Slot LFC TV said after the 4-2 defeat.
“We had one, Hugo [Ekitike]But he wasn't ready to play yet. Darwin was injured. Lucho [Luis Diaz] Couldn't play so well. “
Slot repeated this with further comments and added: “It was in Lucho's situation, yes [the reason why he was left out].
“There have been many rumors around him lately and I can't comment on that. He trains well with us, but we have now decided not to play him yet.
“I am used to talking regularly with most of my players. Like I said, Lucho is really training well and we have decided that he is not playing in the games at the moment. I can't do much about that anymore.”
Can the Diaz Sales Fund a move for Isak?
Sky Sports News' Mark Mcadam:
The fact that Liverpool has held an approach suggests that they were willing to pay compensation, at least in the region of what Newcastle is looking for, which is around £ 150 million.
But can they afford it?
With regard to the sale of players, Liverpool has already generated more than £ 60 million.
The four players they have moved this summer are Academy players, who represent pure profit under PSR, or have been sold for big profit.
If you add to Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott in Diaz, Darwin Nunez, those three players can only yield another £ 150 million. That might also create space in the forward line.
When you take that into account, their net may start to see quite healthy, on top of a really well -guided club.
