Barcelona captain and goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has claimed that his relationship with the club is good, despite the widespread report of the opposite. The German veteran will undergo surgery to tackle a continuous back pain on Tuesday.
Ter Stegen is currently traveling to Bordeaux in France to keep surgery on his back, where he is operated on again by Dr. Amelie Leglise. It has been claimed that Barcelona is strongly irritated with Ter Stegen after he announced that he would be out three months after the operation – medical experts also indicated that he could be out for four months or more. If the latter was the case, Barcelona could use 80% of his wages to register other players because of an injury rule, but the announcement of Ter Stegen could make that difficult.
Ter Stegen spoke with Sport at El Prat van Barcelona that the relations with the club were in order and said: “The relationship with the club is good, always good, intact.”
“If you have to undergo surgery, I think something is wrong, right?” He laughed when he was asked about his physical condition.
The facts suggest differently. Diario as saying that Ter Stegen only traveled to France and refuses to be accompanied by the Barcelona staff. They also note that clubs are not allowed to provide injury information about a player without their permission, and may therefore not be allowed to announce how long Ter Stegen will be out after the operation – so that the Catalan giants can dispute his announcement in public.
However, they can submit a medical report to La Liga, which would revise the information and make a decision about whether Barcelona can activate the injury rule. The Blaugrana is therefore waiting for Dr.'s medical report. Leglise with great expectations, because it could have an important impact.
