Arsenal pursuing former Celta Vigo and Real Madrid guru as Edu replacement
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos has long been involved in the pinnacle of football recruitment, and now Arsenal want to poach the Portuguese transfer guru. The Gunners are looking for a successor to their sporting director Edu Gaspar after his imminent departure was announced.
According to SkySports and confirmed by Diario AS, Arsenal are in contact with Campos about the job. Paris Saint-Germain recently started renewal talks with Campos but has yet to make progress, and this will only add to the uncertainty at the Parc des Princes.
Campos was an advisor at Celta Vigo until last season, during a mixed period at the Galician side, where he received no shortage of criticism. In the meantime, he achieved great success in Spanish football more than ten years ago, as chief scout for Real Madrid. Real Sociedad sporting director Roberto Olabe, who has also announced his departure at the end of the season, has also been linked with the role at the Emirates.
