Manchester United has limited their Spits search to two primary names in Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko.
The club has weighed various options in the summer and now, after they have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, they adjust their energies to who might join the top.
No decision has yet been made to what goal to go, but United is in contact with both Watkins and Sesko to determine the potential costs of each deal. A movement for Nicolas Jackson, a considered player, is excluded because of the demands of Chelsea.
United is located in the evaluation phase and there is internal acceptance that negotiations can take time, with Aston Villa and RB Leipzig each having considerable price tags on their respective players. United has to sell to raise money, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony on the market for ratings that would cover the costs of a large arrival, while the departure of players such as Jadon Sancho would also add to the available funds.
The pursuit of United for a new striker also keeps the future of Rasmus Hojlund in question and although Inter's conquest of Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma means that the Serie A is no longer striving for his signature, various other clubs observe the situation.
United is busy weighing Watkins and Sesko for their contrasting styles, suitability for the Ruben Amorim team and the financial edition.
Villa is privately stated that Watkins is not for sale, but there is a conviction at Old Trafford that a deal can be closed possible. United would not demand the £ 60 million villa in January, since Watkins is 29, but they can find an agreement for £ 40 million to £ 45 million.
His age means that he could have a limited time at the highest level, and there is little resale value, but Watkins would fit into the account as Premier League proven, of which Amorim confirmed that it was a factor in the movements for Cunha and Mbeumo.
Watkins has 75 goals in 184 games for Villa in the Premier League, reaching double digits in each of its past five seasons, and is seen by some at United as the transfer target that is probably a reliable source of goals in the top flight of England. Watkins registered 24 goals and assists in the Premier League during the last campaign, behind Alexander Isak (29) and Erling Haaland (25) under strikers.
He also has an existing relationship with Mbeumo of the 2019-20 campaign in Brentford. The couple achieved 40 championship goals between them, with Watkins in Center-Forward and Mbeumo as a right wing.
The costs for recruiting Sesko would be higher. When he signed his new contract in 2024, it came up with the concept that as an Elite-Club, according to his definition of € 80 million-€ 90 million (£ 69 million to £ 78 million), Leipzig would allow him to leave. Arsenal eventually ran away from a deal after finding conversations and the overall costs too great.
United, however, looked three times at the signing of Sesko, dating out when he was a 16-year-old in Domzale, and he is seen as a high potential ceiling. Sesko can still be sold at 22 in the coming years, so a transfer must retain good value.
Director of United of Recruitment Christopher Vivell also has history at Sesko – which will be held in 2019 and 2022 in 2019 and 2022.
But Sesko's count of 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga competitions This season is assessed by some, because the shortage of the figures needed for the type of reimbursement needed to get it.
United must also take into account Newcastle that Sesko places at the top of their list to replace Isak when he leaves for Liverpool. It is expected that Newcastle is ready to place large finances in the Sesko pursuit.
Complications for Watkins are that Villa would need a replacement, and on time, but United must be in balance with expenses and clubs are expected to wait before they have interested players, such as Chelsea with Garnacho, even if Amorim clubs warned a Deadline -day agreement.
