Real Madrid star Rodrygo will be on his way from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, or at least that seems to be the plan. However, there are doubts about a potential destination that appears before the Brazilian, but he does have a preferred option in mind.
Rodrygo could be seen in the club World Cup under Xabi Alonso, who after missing the last month of La Liga looked like a clear sign that Los Blancos was looking for Rodrygo. Although recent reports have made doubts about the future of Vinicius Junior in the club, Los Blancos is open to an exit for the Brazilian international.
According to Indykaila, Rodrygo has asked his agent, who is his father Eric, to get in touch with Liverpool about the possibility of a movement. He is enthusiastic about a switch to Anfield and is the impetus behind the contacts, but the Goes family has been told to wait until their chase Alexander Isak ends somehow, after which the Reds reconsider their options and budget.
In recent weeks, Tottenham Hotspur has also linked a surprise movement for Rodrygo, and Diario as reported this week that Spurs asked permission to speak with the attacker. Santi Aouna, however, has denied that a movement is a possibility, in which Rodrygo is apparently not interested in the switch.
Rodrygo has been associated with a number of destinations, including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Bayern is about to sign Luis Diaz, while Arsenal has just spent large on Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, and Liverpool has signed Hugo Ekitike and chased Isak. On the other hand, PSG is already equal for options at the front.
There certainly does not seem like a clear destination for Rodrygo, and unless he is willing to make a leap to Saudi Aarabia, he might have to wait until the last weeks of the transfer market to see which options will come on its way.
