Tottenham Captain Son Heung-Min is seen as the subject of an offer of £ 15 million from Lafc in the MLS, but the veteran South Korea International could remain in place
Thomas Frank insists that he sees son Heung-Min a 'very good' role to play for Tottenham next season, despite interest in the veteran attacker of Lafc.
The captain of Spurs, 33, continues to be connected to a relocation of the club where he joined ten years ago. The interest in his services from abroad has remained throughout the summer and with son no longer a guaranteed starter, it is speculated that all parties can decide that a movement would be favorable.
If Son left, he would do this as the first captain of Tottenham who lifted a European trophy in the club in 41 years after last season's Europa League triumph.
But Frank, the new head coach of Spurs, has now come out and said that the son has been reserved to play an important role next season.
“I think the inheritance of the son here is in the first place remarkable,” De Dane told men in blazers. “He has been a fantastic player for Tottenham, he is a fantastic player for Tottenham.
“I see a player who can play a very good role here next season. He has arrived, very good mindset, very hard trained, the players pushed. So I am enthusiastic about it.”
Last week it turned out that Tottenham is considering an offer worth £ 15 million from Lafc for Son, who won the Premier League Golden Boot Award in 2022.
He scored seven times in the top light last season and registered another nine assists for traces. It is still to be seen whether he would be open to go to the MLS.
It was a disappointing domestic campaign for the Noord -Londers, who finished completely in 17th place. However, they did a fine for that by winning a trophy and qualifying for the Champions League.
Now under new management, Tottenham has already strengthened their attack this summer with the catches of Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel, the last to become a permanent member after the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan in the club.
Further additions are expected before the transfer window closes on 1 September, which the son could push further further the pecking order.
A player who will not participate is Morgan Gibbs-White: the Nottingham Forest star has signed a new three-year contract with the club after an approach to Spurs, which it was thought to have caused a release clause in the previous deal of the attacking midfielder, only to be threatened with legal steps. Since then a movement has been broken down.
