Newcastle -Baas Eddie Howe has admitted that the future of Alexander Isak might be over the hands of intense ties to Liverpool.
Sky Sports News understands that Alexander Isak Newcastle has informed that he wants to explore his options this transfer window.
Liverpool is also supposed to have done an informal approach for Isak before he signs Hugo Ekitike and remains huge admirers of the 25-year-old striker.
Last week, Howe confirmed that the Sweden International will not play a role in the Newcastle Tour pre-season after he announced the club that he will explore his options.
Isak was sent home by Howe for the 4-0 defeat for the season for Celtic last week because they are influenced by transfer speculation after an approach from Liverpool.
The striker was not part of the traveling party to East Asia, where Newcastle said he had been left at home due to a small thigh problem and a long-distance flight would not have helped his recovery.
Quizzed about the future of Isak on Tuesday in Seoul, South Korea, said Howe:
“He is still our player. He has contracted us. We have checked to a certain extent what the next one is for him. I would like to believe that all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he remains, but that is not in my complete control.
“We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from every club. My wish is that he will stay and we will see him play again next year.”
Isak has left for three years to walk his current deal, so Newcastle would be in a strong negotiating position and appreciate the player for £ 150 million.
