Flamengo has officially announced the signing of Samuel Lino of Atlético de Madrid. The 25-year-old attacker wrote a contract with the Brazilian club until December 2029 and will be the third signing of Flamengo of the transfer window of the middle years. Born in Santo André, São Paulo, Lino was born in 2016 in São Bernardo's Youth Academy, the first team debuted the following year and was borrowed from Flamengo to play for the team under 20. In 2018 he won the São Paulo Junior Football Cup with the club.
His first club in Europe was Gil Vicente in Portugal, where he excelled in the 2021/22 and 12 goals season. After performing well for the Portuguese club, Samuel Lino was signed in 2022 by Atlético Madrid and then lent to Valencia, also in Spain. Upon returning to the Madrid club, he was named the best player of the Spanish team in the 2023/24 season. In addition to playing as a left wing player, he can also play as a winger.
