Liverpool does not have to hurry this summer and buy a new defender, claims the former Reds' Nr. 1 David James – who believes that the side of Arne Slot can for the time being rely on scoring opponents.

“The idea that Liverpool should have the best defense would be great, but I don't think they should hurry to buy someone. It can be something that happens in January. The end of the Champions League campaign is of course when you come across better teams and your defensive problems are questioned.
“I imagine that they will have so much success anyway that they do not feel that they should go and see someone desperately and look at the signing sessions, so far does not seem to be a despair.”
Guehi just has the Eagles for the FA Cup, but has no plans to extend his deal in Selhurst Park, which ends in a year. He did not exclude the possibility of taking his contract, so that he would make a free agent next summer.
