Algerian international Ramiz Zerrouki rejoins FC Twente on loan from Feyenoord

Feyenoord -Midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki has again committed himself to FC Twente, confirms the two parties on Wednesday.

The Algerian International played 108 games for FC Twente between 2019 and 2023. Since Zerrouki left the Enschede for Rotterdam, the midfielder has appeared in 65 games in two seasons for Feyenoord, but played only 54 minutes per game on average.

Zerrouki is now coming to FC Twente again about a one -year loan agreement, but did not expect to return to Enschede so quickly after the departure.

“I left here two years ago, so you don't expect you to be back now. Sometimes things just happen that way,” Zerrouki said on the club website.

“FC Twente was specifically looking for a player like me. Of course I discussed this with Jan Streuer and the coach, but it didn't take long. We know what we can expect from each other. From the very first moment I had a good, familiar feeling. That's why I chose this option.”

The 27-year-old joined FC Twente Academy of Ajax in 2016 and is happy to be back in Enschede. “I'm going to play the home games again in the Grolschveste, who would have thought? In any case, I am really looking forward to it.”

FC Twente opens their Eredivisie season next week, on Sunday 10 August, with an away game at PEC Zwolle.
