Manchester United has limited their striker on the hunt for Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins – but who better fits Old Trafford?
Ruben Amorim is desperate to bring a new NR .9 this summer after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have endured cheerful seasons.
In 64 combined performances in the Premier League previous term, the duo managed only seven goals.
So it is no surprise to see that Man Utd wants to change their entire front line after the signs of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils reportedly contacted the representatives of Sesko to sell him the project, also enthusiastically with Newcastle.
And although Man Utd has no European football to offer, the club has convinced that the RB Leipzig -Man Old Trafford would choose over a Champions League campaign on Tyneside.
The only stumbling block is funds.
United is financially against it and knows that the tone will be able to comfortably match the price force of £ 70 million with an objective if they lose Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
That means that United also realizes Watkins, with Villa who is understood that he wants £ 60 million for their chief.
But Old Trafford Chiefs think they could sign him for £ 45 million.
Contact is made with the entourages of both potential goals.
But the club would weigh their options prior to launching bids.
Looking at the statistics during the last two competition seasons, Sesko has found 27 times the back of the net, where Watkins surpasses him on 35 goals.
But the Slovenian has a higher shot conversion rate at 23.5 percent to 18.3 percent.
And he has better minutes per goal record from 145 to 167.
Watkins, however, records many more assists with 21 compared to just seven and he takes more photos.
There is very little to separate them in the air and on urgent statistics.
Sesko, 22, has age by his side and is seen as one for the future.
Although cost -saving Sir Jim Ratcliffe also knows that Sesko will probably have a much higher sale value of the couple.
But England -star Watkins, 29, has already been proven Premier League and would certainly run the ground after he scored 75 top flight goals since he came to Villa in 2020.
He will probably also cost considerably less – although every movement is dependent on finding a taker for £ 72 million flop Hojlund.
A movement for Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea was discounted after Chelsea had quoted a no less than £ 100 million.
Villa has so far rejected all the suggestions of an approach and insisted that Watkins is not for sale for any price.
But they offered him to Arsenal in the January window before they performed a U-turn after the sale of Jhon Duran instead.
New signing Mbeumo played alongside the English striker in Brentford and hinted that he would like to be reunited.
He told the Rio Ferdinand presents Podcast: “Ollie is a complete striker.
“He can do a lot of things. He can fall to be available or to go behind.
“And that is really good for me as a winger because you can use his space to fit there. Plus he can also combine. It's really good.”
