The Agent of Viktor Gyokeres has hammered Sporting Lisbon for how they handled the exit of the striker when he claimed that the new husband of the new man City Hugo Viana would have honored their agreement
One of the representatives of Viktor Gyokeres has focused on Sporting Lisbon for creating a “mess” for the Swede, trying to reach an exit of the Portuguese champions. The long saga ended when he joined Arsenal, but not for much hostility.
Sporting was brace for offers when it came to their star striker, which was one of the most productive fronts in Europe, but had hoped to retain his services. However, Gyokees made it clear that he wanted to leave and believed that the Lord's agreement was in force.
The Lisbon outfit denied that there was such a thing and the situation soon became dirty. The club was frustrated by suggestions from the agent of Gyoke, Hasan Cetinkaya, which was reached an agreement about the transfer costs of the striker before the start of the window.
Sporting fined when Gyokeres € 350,000 (£ 306,000), which was his full salary for July, because of his refusal to report back for training for the season earlier this month.
But Jonathan Chalkias, who works together with Cetinkaya to manage Gyokeres, claims that the former sporting chef Hugo Viana, who left for taking the same role in Manchester City, honored the agreement to let him go and avoid the messy exit.
He said the Swedish Network WTV: “It was a mess. There was a men's agreement with the previous sports director. If Hugo Viana was still in the sport, the deal would be closed within an hour. Everything was written, we had no time to start a legal battle.
“I don't understand how a player who scored so many goals and won three trophies, no longer deserved respect. The sacrifices we made were the turning point for the deal to happen. They offered gyokeres to Real Madrid, they even got the headlines with Man United, but there was a dedication with Arsenal.
“Viktor always trusted that of Hasan Cetinkaya [the striker’s agent] Project: they corresponded to less exposure to go to a competition, such as the Portuguese, to win titles and return to the Premier League. At the time, seven Premier League clubs were already interested. “
Gyokees, however, came out and claimed that he does not blame anyone for the way in which the Transfersaga took place with the striker himself a number of options to consider, but claimed that it was “not a difficult decision” to choose Arsenal when they came to the party.
