The feud of Eddie Hall with Thor Bjornsson is so heated that the Brit does not want a part of his rival, even if it means taking revenge in the ring or cage.
The couple fought famous three years ago in Dubai, with the gigantic 6'9 Game of Thrones star who came at the top after each man had put the other on the ground. It was a huge hit online, but neither of them was fully paid – a problem for which Hall blames his rival.
After the fact, the Brit continued to fight and his debut in KSW won earlier this year. Hall brutally broke five-time former World's Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianowski within a few seconds and now looks at his next move in the ring or cage.
Eddie Hall does not want a business relationship with Thor Bjornson
Despite the obvious cash register of another fight between the two, Eddie Hall and Thor Bjornsson both seem relatively not interested in a second fight. And spoken with Bloody Elbow earlier this year, the Brit explained that their feud runs so deep that he could not complete the necessary business efforts.
“I think it's ready,” said Hall Bloody Elbow for his MMA debut in April. “We had our discrepancies, he had a painful loser moment when he could not take a loss and we had a fight about it. Unfortunately, the wrong man won in that circumstance, but I had to hit the man who was a pleasure for me.
“He went back to Strongman because he has nothing for him, so let him crack. I don't think he will ever come back to do the rematch, so let him break. I am done with that f – head head …
“I think doing business or doing sports with a man who hates you so much, is a bad idea and I just feel that there were such bad signs.
“We were not paid for that fight! It was each $ 1 million and it all just fell on. I think many of them were people who were normal and guaranteed money and not trust pay-per-views and I think he was a big victim of that problem.
“Just do business with that man? I don't want to do it. There was just too much hatred there and that is still there and it is not a good idea to do business, what the fighting game is, with someone you hate so much.”
Eddie Hall responds while Thor Bjornsson breaks his legendary deadlif record of 500 kg
Despite the bitter feud between the couple as Hall admitted during our interview, he was stylish in his answer when Bjornsson broke his deadlif record at the weekend. For years, 500 kg of 1102.3LB was the record lift in the history of Strongman, but the Icelandic star broke that when he pulled 505 kg or 1104.5LB.
“Huge respect for Thor for writing history and setting the official WR on 505 kg,” Hall wrote on Instagram after seeing the video of the performance of his rival. “That is a great pull. Records are made to be broken. Great respect, great love.”
Thor would supposedly surpass him with a 501 kg (1104.5LBS) Pull during coronavirus Lockdowns in 2020. Many people, however, doubted the validity of the deadlift while it took place outside the competition in a private gymnastics and Hall never recognized it as a real victory.
The 6ft 9 in Icelandic giant left no doubt about his 505 kg lift by doing it on the Eisenhart Black Competition, an elite, invitation, only powerful power match that is held every July in Bavaria.
