Confirmed: The final amount that Barcelona are due from FIFA for Araujo injury

Ronald Araujo could make his first appearance in more than five months on Wednesday when Barcelona take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. He has been out of action since suffering a serious hamstring tear playing for Uruguay in the 2024 Copa America, although he has been included in the squad that will travel to Germany this week.

As a result, this means that FIFA is no longer obliged to pay out any further compensation to Barcelona as a result of Araujo's injury, as they are required to do when a player is injured while on international duty. According to MD, it is confirmed that the final amount owed to the Catalan side is just over €2.65 million.

This money will make a small difference towards Barcelona eventually solving their financial problems, although it could even go towards transfers during the upcoming winter window. Nevertheless, the club will be very happy that Araujo, whose absence has been felt in recent weeks, has finally been found.
