‘You did it yourself’ … UFC legend responds to Michael Bisping asking if Ilia Topuria is ‘pulling a Jon Jones’

Michael Bisping said that Ilia Topuria vs. Arman Tsarukyan perhaps the new Jones vs. Tom Aspinall is.

Of course we have never seen the heavyweight title fight between Jones and Aspinall, where Jones chose to combat Stipe Miocic instead of uniting the title against interim champion and #1 competition Tom Aspinall.

Jones was on the receiving side of many accusations of the fans and Aspinall Trolden Jones by wearing a rubber duck at UFC events.

#1 UFC Lightweight Arman Tsarukyan uses a similar approach with Champion Topuria, haunts around a live duck in a recent video. Topuria, however, does not seem to be interested and to say that he would rather leave the title than the next Tsarukyan fighting.

On his YouTube channel, Michael Bisping said that Topuria and Tsarukyan were the 'new version' of the Jones aspinall saga, who wondered whether or not Topuria the #1 candidate or in his words 'Dook' or in his words, 'a Jon Jones pulled'.

A fellow -ofc champion responded to Bisping, which suggests that he did exactly the same when he was in the middleweight throne.

Daniel Cormier points out that Michael Bisping never fought top candidate Yoel Romero

Former second division champion Daniel Cormier says that he also wants to see Topuria fight against Tsarukyan, but can understand why the champion does not want to, because Tsarukyan withdrew at the last minute at the last minute against Islam Makhakev on UFC 311.

Cormier believes that Bisping Topuria should reduce some play, after he has been in the same position a few times as he was.

“Michael, Paul, I understand frustration,” replied Cormier on his YouTube channel.

“But Mike, you are on the side of the championship. If you are ready to fight against Dan Henderson, you wanted to get some back on him, so you fought against him,” Cormier referred to the time Bisping a 46-year-old Dan Henderson removed in his pension fight at UFC 204.

'But if there was a bigger fight for you, George St-Pierre in that regard, you took it …

“Even though Yoel Romero, Mike, was probably the more justified number one competition.

“The bigger fight was juice, and you took it,” said Cormier, in which he stated how Bisping never fought, high-ranking top candidate Yoel Romero in 2016-17 when he was 7-0 or 8-0 in the UFC.

“At the end of the day I agree with you,” Cormier continued.

“It should be Arman vs. Ilia, and I don't think there is a question about that. But I think the problem with it is that lasting memory of him and Paddy Pimblett [facing off] In the octhoek after the belt. It will be difficult to erase.

“Don't pretend that you are not in this position before, Michael,” Cormier said about Bisping.

“You know exactly why he does that because you did it yourself when you had the chance to fight GSP instead of Yoel Romero.”

Dana White took Arman Tsarukyan twice for the title

After the withdrawal of Tsarukyan from the Main Event of UFC 311, who forced the UFC to call an audible and step in and fight Renato Moicano and fight Makhachev for the title on a daily report, said CEO Dana White that Tsarukyan should fight again for the titles opportunities.

Tsarukyan did not seem to be against it, and months later the #1 candidate looked back in the good graten of the UFC as the backup hunter for the UFC 317 main event between Topuria and Oliveira.

The services of Tsarukyan were not necessary and although UFC boss White appreciated, he refused to put Tsarukyan in line for a title fight.

Many think that Tsarukyan could be the most difficult test of Topuria in the Octagon with his grasping skills. The 28-year-old comes back-to-back victories at former champion Charles Oliveira and former top 3-community Beneil Dariush.
