Dustin Poirier will not be far from the octagon after his UFC pension.

The former UFC -Interim -light weight champion fought its last fight on UFC 318 and retired after a unanimous decision loss for BMF champion Max Holloway in his home state of Louisiana.

Poirier was also one of the biggest stars of the UFC and also the highest paid. 'The Diamond' finally demolished twice in back-to-back fights in 2021 and fought for five titles in his 41-Vecht career.

Less than two weeks after his pension fight, Poirier seems to have made a decision about what the next one is.

Dustin Poirier to concentrate on the temporary employment career at ESPN

In April, Poirier worked with Chael Sonnen as a desk analyst for ESPN as part of the UFC 314 broadcast.

A number of UFC hunters have had a successful temporary employment career on the desk, as Alan Jouban and Michael Chiesa and others such as Daniel Cormier and Paul Felder have continued.

Poirier looks at them in his career after the UFC.

“I look forward to coming back to the ESPN agency,” wrote Poirier on Thursday on X.

“I'm starting to focus on that now,” said Poirier about fighting analysis.

Poirier has fought a lot of the lightweight grid, giving him valuable insight while he goes from a hunter to a broadcaster.

I look forward to coming back to the ESPN agency that is now concentrating on it.

Despite the fact that he has never won the undisputed championship, Poirier will perish as one of the greatest light weights of all time.

The former interim champion has a CV better than some champions, which have defeated former UFC Champs Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, Anthony Pettis, Eddie Alvarez, Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler (Bellator).
