Liverpool has submitted their first official offer for Alexander Isak, which was immediately rejected by Newcastle United, according to reports in the media.
Isak has only trained in the facilities of his former club, Real Sociedad, after he had not joined Newcastle during their pre-season Tour through South Korea, and the club claimed that he had a “thigh injury” to explain his absence in recent weeks.
The 23 goals of the Swedish international at the top of the top last season became one of the leading strikers in the world, and now, according to journalist David Ornstein, the Reds have made an ambitious offer for the attacker who has been refused.
“Excl: Newcastle rejects Liverpool's official offer for Alexander Isak. Initial approach informal -now company #LFC offer and rejected. #NUFC presented a new deal with 2026 release clause + senior teammates pushed 25yo to stay,” posted.
Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano also revealed more details about the deal that would become one of the biggest transfers in British history if it continues.
“Liverpool opening bid for Alexander Isak was worth £ 120 million package plus add-ons.
“Newcastle rejected because they will not open doors until they find a replacement … and it is not guaranteed at this stage.
“Isak is on with Newcastle for his clear desire to become a member of Liverpool.”
After having brought in a Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a huge fee of £ 116 million, manager Arne Slot is not afraid to splash the money even further when he reaches his deep pockets again.
However, it does not matter how much money Liverpool throws on Isak; Newcastle must first find a replacement.
