Pep Guardiola has launched a new side to prepare for life on the road after Manchester City.
The legendary boss has channeled his energy in positive vibes and wellness after missing silverware for the second time in his incredible 17-year career last season.
Guardiola, 54, is going into business with a doctor and a therapist in Barcelona, his home where he spends time with family free during rare times.
The Etihad Gaffer has laid its money and image behind powerful recovery facility called the Monarka Clinic, which opened its doors last month.
The clinic is at an excellent address in Barcelona, directly on the historic passeig de Gràcia, a road that houses part of the most expensive real estate in Spain.
Days after a shock outlet from the club World Cup Last-16 to Al-Hilal in June, Guardiola told GQ: “I am a big investor in large projects.”
The Premier League manager was taken in the Monarka clinic in unfortunate conditions.
He was treated by one of the makers Dr. Mireia Illueca after he had suffered a sliding disc in his back a few years ago.
Guardiola explained: “I had a back problem and she has solved it, and since then we have known each other and became very close.
'She told me about the clinic and her project, about the things she wants to do. Because I have always believed that sport, health and well -being are all fundamental, she asked me: 'Why don't we work together? '
“And I answered:” Why not? “And here we are. I am not going to heal anyone, but I will keep her company while she has been doing that for a while. “
Dr. Illueca is a neurosurgeon and expert in regenerative medicine and pain management, while co-owner Montse Escobar is a psychologist who specializes in identifying the emotional root causes of physical disorders.
In the meantime, Guardiola debuted a brand new clean shaved look during a visit to the clinic last month – his usual beard for a striking mustache.
Guardiola thinks that the clinic can help both the general public and the professional athletes deal with physical pain through mental methods.
He even joked half that City Boss took his years of his life when he said: “Quite something, especially when things are going badly.
“As I am now, I am 75 years old! I am a wreck, everything hurts now.
“So, if it's my biological age … Maybe if I take the test, I will come out younger. I hope to be better than now for a while.
“A friend of mine, who I think has defined me very well, once told me that I have three states as a person: euphoric, depressed and absent. Those are my three states.
“So the point is to try to stay in the middle of these three.”
The Spaniard is desperate to restore City to the top when the prem starts this month, after a record spell of four league titles in a row ended in failure last season.
As he spoke with GQ, he later agreed with the idea that people “wait until he fails” after years of domination.
When he interviewed, Guardiola said: “So they are waiting for me to fail? Yes, yes, I am sure that is true. And I am happy to see them too. Believers.
“That gives you energy. In competition you need people to say: 'Really true? We will see about that. '
“They were those who said,” He won't be able to do it in Germany, he was in Barcelona because of whom he knew “and” in England, you'll see, English football is different. “
“Well, no. We did it. And then we did it over and over again. Do things sometimes go wrong? Of course they do that. “
City opens their Premier League campaign against Wolves in the Etihad on August 16.
