Liverpool’s Tyler Morton inching closer to joining Lyon in deal worth up to £15m

Liverpool -midfielder Tyler Morton is close to securing a move to the French side Lyon with a value of a maximum of £ 15 million.

The England U21 International has a more regular playing time of the first team and has raised questions from a number of clubs, including West Ham, Sporting Braga, Ajax and Strasbourg.

Liverpool has held £ 15 million for the 22-year-old graduate of the Homegrow Academy and Lyon have now provisionally agreed conditions with a deal that is expected to continue.

Morton spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan in Hull City on the championship.

The 22-year-old returned to Merseyside last season, but was able to manage only six performances in all competitions, because Arne Slot led the club to Premier League Glory in his first campaign.

Liverpool -striker Darwin Nunez remains an option for Saudi club Al Hilal.

Liverpool has withheld £ 70 million for the International Uruguay and has already rejected an approach to Al Nassr in February and again recently rejected from Napoli.

Newcastle has NUNEZ on their long list of options, but they have other goals higher as priorities and Liverpool still have to indicate whether they will make a new offer for Alexander Isak.

In the meantime, former Manchester United coach Simon Wiles has taken over the Liverpool U18 coach.
