Manchester United is interested in RB Leipzig -star Benjamin Sesko and it was claimed that Rasmus Hojlund can be used in a potential deal as make -weight
RB Leipzig is reportedly interested in Rasmus Hojlund as a potential replacement for Benjamin Sesko, but the Spits of Manchester United does not want to come to them. This summer Sesko is strongly connected to a move to the Premier League.
Both United and Newcastle are interested in the 22-year-old, with the magpies that submit an opening bid of just under £ 70 million. United is now brace for long -term negotiations with Leipzig about Sesko.
There had been suggestions that United could win the Race for Sesko by offering Hojlund to Leipzig as part of a Swap deal. However, Talksport reports that Hojlund 'has made it clear that he does not want to go there'.
The news comes after United Baas Ruben Amorim admitted that he cannot give any guarantees about the future of Hojlund. Speaking after Hojlund scored in the 4-1 victory of United over Bournemouth in the preseason, Amorim said: “I am really happy with Rasmus, but I don't know what will happen until the end of the market.
“The most important thing is that the strikers that are here really work well, they improve, they help the team and that is the most important thing. The most important thing is that Rasmus scores goals.
“He is very well connected to the team. He improves. Again, I don't know what will happen until the market is closed. We suffered a plot due to the lack of goals last season. But I don't just think the goals, but the way in which Rasmus connects the game.
“Every time we have to kick the ball, we kick the ball when we are more pressed. The opportunity for him to hold the defender and make contact with the support helps us to play a lot better and we play better because he plays better.
“I am really happy with the players we had last season. They improve. We look like another team today. Let's continue. I am really happy with Bryan [Mbeumo]Matheus [Cunha]Even Diego [Leon].
“You can see it. He is a smart guy. He is a man who came from Paraguay to come to the Premier League. He is really powerful, so I'm really happy with the three boys.”
Hojlund, however, seems to be fighting for his place at United and has insisted on the signing of a new striker will “sharpen” him. “I think the most important thing for me is to keep working hard and stay focused and then we will of course see what is happening,” he said.
“I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my place, whatever happens. The competition is fine, it sharpens me. I am more than ready. I feel sharp, so I welcome everything that comes.”
