An EFLature is delayed after paramedics have yielded a medical emergency in the stands.
Newport County was planned to welcome Notts County's visit for the League Two opening day.
The kick -off at Rodney Parade was originally planned for 3 p.m.
However, the game had to be postponed after a medical emergency unfolded in the stands.
Two air ambulances rushed to scene and landed on the field and the stadium was evacuated.
Both teams have made statements on social media to announce that the kick -off would be postponed.
It said: 'Because a supporter is taken sick in the stands, an air ambulance has landed on the field. A delay to start is probably, with more details that can be followed as quickly as possible.
“We send our very best wishes to the person involved.”
Newport later gave an extra updated on social media and noted that the game is still planned to continue.
“The medical situation is still going on,” it read.
'Currently, the plan is that the game starts at an agreed time, so that both teams can heat up sufficiently after the two air ambulances have left.
“We will keep supporters informed and continue to send our good wishes to the affected person.”
