Liverpool suffer Isak blow as RB Leipzig respond to Newcastle’s Sesko bid

Newcastle United has taken a step to sign RB Leipziger Benjamin Sesko, despite the fact that Liverpool's offer on Alexander Isak has been rejected, but there is no good news for the Reds yet

Newcastle's offer on RB Leipzig -striker Benjamin Sesko has failed. The £ 65.5 million of £ 65.5 million and more than £ 4 million add-ons was not enough to convince the Bundesliga side to give up Manchester United, also interested in the Slovenia star.

Sesko was omitted from RB Leipzig's MatchDay team for their friendly against Serie A Side Atalanta on Saturday in the midst of the news of the Newcastle bid. The prior reimbursement that the tone has offered is reportedly the valuation of the party, but the general package has not been considered acceptable in terms of the total and structure.

The German team hopes that Manchester United will soon make an offer with conversations with both player and club. Sesko still has to decide his preference, with the previous interest of Arsenal.

The Leipzig striker is under contract until 2029 and his agent, Elvis Basanovic, has previously stated that his customer wants a “special project with a special coach”. And the break in the procedure Liverpool has offered little motivation.

The Reds saw their own bid rejected when they made an offer of £ 110 million to Newcastle for Alexander Isak. The magpies offered little encouragement for the Anfield Club to return for their star, which is said to be appreciated at £ 150 million, but the hope of Liverpool could be realized if Eddie Howe would find a new striker to work with.

Isak returns to Newcastle after missing the tour on his side of Asia and spent time with training at the former Real Sociedad club. But there remains uncertainty about the future of the Swedish international with the possibility that Liverpool will return to the fold if the Magpies find a replacement.

About the rejected offer of Liverpool, Newcastle -Baas Howe said: “I was informed of an offer yesterday (Friday) and that bid was rejected, all before I even heard about it.

“People back in England are dealing with the situation. I don't know what happens next. From our perspective we still support Alex in every possible way and my wish is that we see him again in a Newcastle shirt.”

It is old Rivals Manchester United who could also spoil Liverpool plans. United made their first approach for Sesko last week, via intermediaries, who opened a dialogue about a possible deal. The Red Devils will set up conversations when they have returned home from their three-game tour by the US.

Although the funds involved will probably be considerable and United wants to discharge different players before the summer transfer window closes, they have room to sign a striker without doing a sale.
