Marcus Rashford came to Barcelona from Manchester United last week, but so far he has not yet been registered with La Liga – which means that he is currently not eligible to record Mallorca on MD1.
Sales are needed before the Catalans have collected the funds that are needed to register Rashford – and colleague new signing Joan Garcia. However, the English attacker is convinced that he will be able to combat Mallorca in two weeks, as he told the media on Sunday (via MD).
“No, I think it's something that the club has to sort out, and I am convinced that it will happen. I am focused on training and I am ready for the start of the season.”
Rashford also revealed that he happens to be used in a versatile role during the coming season, while he also made it clear that his goal is to help Barcelona to win the Champions League 2025-26.
“I can play in different positions, score goals from all areas of the field, it is about scoring from different areas, and hopefully we can go one step further than last year and try to win the Champions League. Every player wants to win it. Last year was fantastic, and now we have to try to recreate and improve it by winning.
“There are many great players here, but I knew that before I came. The quality is very high and the intensity is very high, and that is what we have to maintain all season.”
It would not be a disaster for Barcelona if Rashford would miss against Mallorca, whereby the registration of Garcia was more urgent. However, they will have to go to it to ensure that it is registered by the time the summer transfer window closes at the beginning of September.
