Arsenal express interest in Rennes’ Jérémy Jacquet

Jérméy Jacquet (20) has taken major steps for the past 12 months. Last year last year he started a loan in Ligue 2 Side Clermont Foot. His performances in the Second Division, in combination with the defensive weaknesses of Stade Rennais, saw the Middenback recalled by his parent club in January.

He then settled as a starter under the new Habib Beye manager in the second half of the season when Rennes dragged himself out of the relegation problems. His versions were rewarded with a new deal, which now runs until the summer of 2029. His 11 performances in Ligue 1 were also enough for him to earn a place in the U21 side of France for this summer's European championships.

Fabrizio Romano now understands that Arsenal is interested in the Frenchman, if there are left in the defensive department in the coming months. The Premier League side has made first contact to show their interest. Jacquet can also be an option for Arsenal next summer.
