Arne Slot was “far from satisfied” with his Liverpool side, even as they continued their winning start to the Champions League season in Girona.
League stage leaders Liverpool have made it six wins from six games after beating Girona 1-0 on Tuesday, although they relied on Mohamed Salah to take all three points in the second half.
And because returning goalkeeper Alisson was busy in the first half, Slot could not hide his disappointment with the Reds' performance.
“If you ask me about all six games, I am very happy with all the results,” said the new Liverpool boss.
“I am very happy with the [first] five games like we played; I am far from satisfied with the performance tonight.”
Asked to indicate what exactly he was dissatisfied with, Slot replied: “A lot. Mainly two things.

“When you play against a team that has such a good idea of football, knows how to bring the ball out from the back, like [Manchester] City or Real Madrid, you have to be so intense if you want to make it difficult for them.
“But if you wait a few seconds each time before you press, and then when you press and you get outplayed so easily, this team can cause you a lot of problems.
“This is something [Girona] have shown during the entire Champions League campaign, apart from PSV away, so I almost feel sorry for them because they deserve so much more.
“The other part was that every time we lost the ball we weren't aggressive enough, so every time we lost the ball they were able to go to our goal and make a shot almost every time.
“[Liverpool had] hardly any control over the game, maybe the second half was a little better, but I'm trying to be positive.”
Defender Andy Robertson accepted he and his teammates were below their best, although he preferred to focus on the result, which leaves Liverpool on the brink of qualification.
“Of course, six wins out of six, you can't ask for much better than that,” said the left back. “It's not easy to do, otherwise there would be more teams doing it.
“Our performances were good, we won games, but we played a lot better than tonight, that's for sure; we weren't at our highest level tonight.
“But at the moment it's about winning the games and securing qualification, and I think we've done that.”
