Former Chelsea and Arsenal cult hero announces shock move to Cypriot champions after leaving Brazilian side

The Champions of Cyprus have announced the surprise signing a Premier League cult hero.

The 38-year-old is best remembered for his time in Chelsea, but also spent two seasons with their London Rivals Arsenal.

David Luiz spent a total of nine seasons in the Premier League before he left for his native Brazil in 2021.

He spent the second half of last season with Fortaleza, but became a free agent on 1 August and left the club due to mutual permission.

And his next step was confirmed only a few days later with pafos who confirm that he has joined them for a two -year -old deal.

Luiz Re -Joined Boyhood Club Flamengo in 2021 after his contract with Arsenal had passed -and he went to enjoy success in South America.

He made 132 games in front of his second spell and helped them win the Copa Libertadores, the Copa do Brazil twice and the Campeonato Carioca.

At club level, Luiz has a CV too envy with a large number of trophy victories to scoop up – including the Champions League, the Europa League, the Premier League title and the FA Cup – Plus a clean sweep of silverware in France.

He made his name with Chelsea – signed at Benfica in 2010 – and went through 143 performances before he came to PSG for two seasons.

Luiz then returned three years to Stamford Bridge before moving to Rivals Arsenal for a fee of £ 8 million. He played 73 times for the Gunners and won the FA Cup in 2019-2020.
