Manchester United was told by Bruno Fernandes to complete more transfer company this summer after signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for the front line of Ruben Amorim
Bruno Fernandes has called on Manchester United to make more new signing sessions after the last match of their tour of the United States. The captain of the Red Devils called the performance on his part as 'lazy' before he made a plea for more new additions.
United has already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to the front line of Ruben Amorim this summer this summer, and the young defender Diego Leon has also become a member of the Portuguese Coach's team. But after ending the 15th in the Premier League last season, the 13-time champions have to find a lot of improvement to transform into a competitive side for 2025/26.
And although Fernandes believes that they started to improve thanks to their preparations, he wants to see more competition for places in the first team. The 30-year-old wants to see one or two signing sessions to help unite along the way.
'It has been positive [the US tour] And it's good to create a bond with the players, “said Fernandes.” We looked a bit lazy today and we have to change that.
“I don't want to dig up anyone, but I think the club does the best what they can do in terms of all the financial situations they talk about. I don't know about it, I am not involved. But it was clear that we were crystal clear that we needed more competition for the players who were here.
“We needed more quality to get everyone a little more and to do more to get into the starting line-up. I think that is what the club and the manager try to do and hopefully we can get one or two players to help with that.”
Mirror Football looks at who could add United to meet the requirements of Fernandes.
Benjamin Sesko
The RB Leipzig striker is the focus of the attention of Manchester United and Newcastle and will probably cost more than £ 70 million. The attacker, who scored 13 goals last season, did not give his preference, although United is said to have the benefit while they first talk to the player before they make an offer to the Bundesliga side.
Sesko has long been linked to United and a new striker remains on the agenda with United willing to let Rasmus Hojlund go for £ 30 million.
Ollie Watkins
The asking price of Aston Villa may have made United a step for Ollie Watkins at the moment, but the attacker has turned out to be important. The Midlands Club wants £ 60 million for the 29-year-old and are cautious to sell
This summer Watkins would be in accordance with United's transfer tactics: from trusting players who have already been successful in Premier League. It may require that United will become more desperate to separate with a fee that Villa considers acceptable.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
This summer there was talk of a new keeper on the agenda of Manchester United and few additions can be just as important as Gianluigi Donnarumma. The contract of the Paris Saint-Germain star will expire next year with little signs of an extension.
Reports have indicated that the former AC Milan Shotstopper would be interested in making the move, but the men report that there is currently no fixed budget for a new first choice. The Italy International could be available for free in less than 12 months.
John Victor
Botafogo -goalkeeper John Victor can be a more affordable option. Last month it was reported that the Red Devils were ready to activate his release clause.
United is already linked to a whole series of keepers, including Emi Martinez from Aston Villa, Porto Ace Diogo Costa and Cruz Azul number one Kevin Mier. Reports in Brazil claimed that United was now ready to move for Victor and told the South -American side that they were willing to activate the release clause of the player R $ 44.5 million (£ 6 million).
However, there must still be a move.
Christopher Nunku
Earlier this summer it was reported that Christopher Nunku would be available for £ 35 million if United wanted to take a step. The Frenchman did not succeed in shining in Chelsea after seeing his time in the club disturbed by an injury.
With United who wants to sell Alejandro Garnaacho and Chelsea an excellent candidate for his signature, the chance that NUGKU can be used for every deal remains. The Red Devils will probably prefer full transfer costs to increase their status in profit and sustainability rules.
