Barcelona rode to a third season victory at Daegu FC in South Korea before returning to the Catalan capital, with the side of Hansi Flick again well matched.
Barcelona showed little grace for their opposition in the first half in Daegu, with a more or less starting team on the field. Gerard Martin got a second run in the middle, while the 17-year-old midfielder Dro Fernandez also rewarded with a start. He showed some nice accents, during the opening period, and gave the pass for the opener of Gavi, a nice finish of the edge of the box for the Spain International.
It was Martin who was involved in the second, while on his more well-known left back place for an excellent ball over the box to set up Robert Lewandowski to easily end up in the box. Dro could also have had a second in the season, but could not keep the ball up close while he attacked Alejandro Balde's own beautiful ball.
Others impressed, but it was the Lamine Yamal show in South Korea. Bad luck that Raphinha did not convert a brilliant cross, the 18-year-old weaved away between defenders and easily accelerated theirs, but only missed the last touch on two or three occasions.
Raphinha would just redeem himself by seeing a pass for Gavi, so that he was placed freely in the box. He ended up beautifully again and lifted the ball over the goalkeeper in the net. Daegu saw the only sticky moment for Barcelona escaping to the left and Joan Garcia did not get it out on time to cut the ball. Gaping with the aim, Geovani kept it broad and high.
The second half finished with Barcelona who attacked well on the left by Jofre Torrents and Toni Fernandez, with Marcus Rashford a little more inside. The latter was the end of a brilliant movement that cut through for the fourth, and ended smoothly, one of the many sequences that showed his talent.
Between Fernandez, Dani Olmo, Marc Casado and Pedri, Daegu were constant on the back foot. Roony Bardghji and Torrents also came in a number of good positions, but between rescues, reductions and blocks could not fully find the finishing touch. Barcelona was made to wait until the 65th minute for their final goal, where Eric Garcia pulled the ball back for Marcus Rashford to bubble in the bottom corner from the penalty spot.
The only care for Barcelona was the exit of Pau Cubarsi, which seemed to be right. Barcelona goes down with three minutes to go and hopes that it is nothing serious.
It brings an end to a successful tour for Hansi Flick and Barcelona, in which they showed one or two Dodgy moments at the back, but usually impressed by their movement of the ball, the quality of their movements generally, and the ease with which they created opportunities. Young people Dro, Toni Fernandez and Bardghji looked like gears in the machine, and Rashford showed a glimpse of what he can add.
