Sean O'Malley was impressed by how Israel Adesanya performed in the defeat against the UFC Middleweight Champion, and he thinks Khamzat Chimaev is going one step further.
All eyes are aimed at the 185-pound division in August, because reigning title holder Dricus du Plessis faces a challenge that many people consider the most difficult of his undefeated UFC career to date.
Chimaev still has to taste a defeat in MMA and most recently went through Robert Whittaker through submission in 2024. After countless health problems in the past, his push to UFC Gold, 'Borz', finally gets his chance in the main event of UFC 319 on August 16.
And O'Malley has made its choice less than two weeks of the event in the United Center in Chicago.

After seeing Chimaev Crush Whittaker with a face crank last October, many quickly pointed to the Chechen as a competition who was able to do what some prominent names have failed so far.
Since his award, Du Plessis Adesanya and the man he did not use, defeated Sean Strickland in a Rematch to successfully defend his title twice. During an appearance on the overog podcast of Mike Perry, O'Malley suggested that the perfect UFC -Run of the South African will end.

“Khamzat vs. DDP is now very exciting for me,” said O'Malley. “I just watched DDP versus Israel this morning for the training. Guy, Izzy looked so good in that fight … DDP took over, but guy, Izzy was largely dominating.
“I have the feeling that Khamzat is difficult to count; DDP is that too. Of course, everyone keeps him (du plessis) every fight and he comes out and does it.
“Khamzat, after what he did with Whittaker, the way he did it to Whittaker, it's as holy – yes, I go with Khamzat,” added O'Malley.

Van du Plessis who eliminates Whittaker to the title of crowning and defenses that have been followed, the South African has made it a habit to prove his haters incorrectly in the Octagon.
And Du Plessis did a similar UFC 319 promise, who promised to be the first to defeat Chimaev in MMA and further reduces the middleweight throne.
“I don't care how good you think you are, how difficult, how fit or how strong,” wrote du Plessis on Instagram.
“When you step into that octagon with me, it will be a first experience and not a pleasant one.
