‘Unreal’ … UFC’s newest fighter Alden Coria reacts to short notice Noche UFC debut in home state

UFC debut is not much better than this.

Unbeaten about his last four fights, top Flyweight Prospect Alden Coria called for his shot in the UFC after his last stop win in May.

A few months later, the former Fury FC champion was picked up by the most important promotion, not to prove itself in the competition series of Dana White of 'The Ultimate Fighter'.

The 10-3 (1 NC) Coria has been set to make his promotion debut on September 13 at NOCHE UFC against Alessandro Costa. It is a home game for Coria in Houston while making the Achthoek in San Antonio, Texas.

Coria replaces the injured Edgar chairs on a cancellation period of six weeks.

At the age of 27, 'Cobra' says that his time is now.

Newly signed Alden Coria puts UFC contract in words

Coria made his Pro MMA debut in 2019 and slightly less than six years later he is in the UFC.

Coria took a few losses early in his career and did not let the results come to him.

“It could have been so much different if I had the [UFC] Call a little earlier, “Coria told Bloody Elbow.

“Maybe I would come in and then have lost a few fights and then immediately came out again …

“That's not my plan,” said Coria.

“I try to be there and then stay there. I try to make a name and make a run for the title.”

Coria, both a driver and a hunter, says that he recently took leave for his work, so that he could make his debut in the UFC next month.

“It still feels very surreal,” Coria said that he was signed at the UFC only a few days ago.

“It really hasn't touched me yet and I don't think it will hit me until I might leave for the UFC, to the fight. I don't think it will hit until then. So it still feels a bit unreal. It feels like it didn't really happen. But I am excited.

“When I was called, I was shaking. I shook my truck. I was half asleep when they called me …

“I am excited. I am ready to go,” Coria added.

'He is not a Mexican' … Alden Coria says that there will be a crowd by his side at Noche UFC

Coria's debut takes place at Noche UFC, an annual event to commemorate the Mexican Independence Day and Mexican heritage.

Coria is of Mexican descent and said that his father tried to cross the border between the US and Mexico eight times to lead a better life for him and his family.

The 27-year-old trains from 4oz. Fight Club in Houston and expects the audience in Texas to root for him against Diego Lopes teammate Alessandro Costa, a Brazilian who trains from Mexico.

“I know Texas will get my back,” said Coria prior to Noche UFC.

“This guy comes from, he really comes from Brazil,” Coria said about Costa.

“He trains in Mexico, but he is a Brazilian. He is not a Mexican. So I know the fans will certainly have my back.

“This will be a great evening,” Coria added.
