Hearts boss McInnes is fully on board with Bloom’s ambitions

Derek Mcinnes is insisting that he is happy to embrace the ambitious goals of investor Tony Bloom – who has set his sights on hearts that will be Scottish champions within the next 10 years.

Brighton's owner was at Tynecastle last night to see how Hearts opened their Premiership campaign with a richly deserved victory over Aberdeen.

Earlier in the day, Bloom had claimed that Harten is already able to split the old company and finish second in the table this season.

Mcinnes, who revealed that he will sit with Bloom for the first time today, is more than happy to buy in the vision of the English entrepreneur as a return on the field at £ 10 million interest in hearts.

“I knew what Tony would say for him and I have absolutely no problem with it,” said the Hearts Manager.

'There are so many people like Tony who are ambitious and want hearts to be successful. He came in with a new pair of eyes and come out to say exactly what he wants. It is what we all want in the club.

“We have to do work. We have to come back from a long way last season as a lower six club, but I think we can make progress.

'We still work from the same budget as the last few seasons, but Tony, myself and others have the feeling that we can bridge the gap and perhaps stay for others, is due to recruitment.

'We can be much smarter and better on that side. Hopefully it brings us closer to the teams with more money than we do.

'It does not mean that it is a certainty, we have to do work to achieve it. I am aware of that and I just enjoy working with the players. We are still far away where we want to be.

'Tony would like to hear his name sang. I knew Tony came for the game for a while.

'I haven't spoken to him yet, we have exchanged a few text messages and we sit down tomorrow.

'I think he would have enjoyed the game and the result because, as he said, he simply wants to see a winning heart team more often. That's what we all want. '

Mcinnes was satisfied with the display of his team as the own goal of Graeme Shinnie and a Stuart Findlay header secured all three points.

“Every manager wants to achieve the first competition gain as soon as possible and I thought we deserved it thoroughly,” he added.

'We came out strong and were probably worth a few goals in the break.

'I don't think we were brilliant in the second half, but when we got the second goal, we managed the game there brilliantly.

“It was a tough game, as you would expect against Aberdeen. What we have there is a couple of guys who scream to do well, fully motivated. We can play better, but it was a good start. We take the three points and continue. '

Aberdeen -Manager Jimmy Thelin was left relieved by a matte performance of his team, whose start of the season is not easier with a home game against Champions Celtic on Sunday.

“In the first half we were disappointed about our performance because Harten battle with the second balls,” said Thelin.

“We had to do better. In the second half there were fewer mistakes and we created opportunities, but in the 50-50 duels we have to do better in the future.

“We knew what we were going to face today. It will be a different type of game against Celtic. '
