Ruben Amorim is calling this summer after telling five players to find new clubs, while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo The rebuilding of Manchester United Leiden – but the manager still chases a new midfielder
Manchester United seems to make a new signature of midfield after Ruben Amorim had indicated his intention to lend younger Toby Collyer, identified as a team player with senior colleague Casemiro this season.
This summer, Amorim supervised a huge rebuilding of his team while offering to erase the heartache of last season, when the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League after 18 losses. Marcus Rashford has already left, while four other players have been told to find new clubs.
United has worked on refining their tactics and fitness under Amorim during their pre-season tour in the United States, where they won the Premier League Summer Series, with new signing sessions Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo Bedding in the team.
But although the team is unbeaten so far in the preseason and looks a much improved side, Amorim is still not satisfied with the earlier that his midfield has “a lack of pace”.
And the actions of Amorim have hinted that the next addition of United could very well be a midfielder, according to Manchester Evening News, with Collyer that is sent on loan.
Collyer was a team player under Amorim last season, because he got a chance from the bank in ten games and also earned three starts in cup competitions, but the United Boss wants more experience at the highest level to help the team control games.
There were also worries about Manuel Ugarte after struggling in the 2-2 friendly draw with Everton, so that their physicality and aggressive press did not deal with.
Casemiro is also not a player where Amorim seems to look at optimism after he had shown signs that he was struggling to keep track of the pace of Elite Voetbal last season.
This season he will be a team player after he was not mentioned in Amorim's six-man leadership group for the season, even though he was admitted under the reign of Erik ten Hag.
Amorim will be looking for Starlet Kobbie Mainoo for the future, but for now he needs a suitable option that can play next to him – or Ugarte.
The club is linked to movements for Atalanta -midfielder Ederson, while Valencia star Javi Guerra is also conceived as a target. Further forward in midfield is also credited with a large movement for Barcelona in Fermin Lopez in Barcelona.
However, the biggest priority for Amorim on the transfer market is a new center Vooruit. The club is talking to sign Red Bull Leipzig -striker Benjamin Sesko, but is confronted with heavy competition from Newcastle, which can offer Champions League football.
