A year later he joined Eintracht Frankfurt, where he played two seasons and scored 36 goals in 75 games in all competitions. He was a member of the team who won the German Cup 2018-19 and in the same season he was elected Bundesliga Best Striker by the Union of the Bundesliga players as Bundesliga Best Striker. He was also voted as a member of the best teams of the season in the German Championship 2018-19 and the Europa League 2018-19.

His performance attracted the interest of Real Madrid, who spent 60 million euros to buy it. With the Great Spanish club he participated in the La Liga-winning campaigns in 2019-2020 and 2021-22 and the winning campaign of Champions League 2021-22.
