Joe Pyfer set to face Sean Strickland’s former rival on Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2 undercard

UFC Middleweight Star Joe Pyfer adds a large boost to the UFC 320 Undercard.

The Contender series by Dana White, Alum Joe Pyfer, has been reflected back since he ran his first UFC defeat against Jack Hermansson in February 2024. Pyfer played Marc-Andre Barriault before he had postponed Kelvin Gastelum via a unanimous decision on UFC 316.

Pyfer's victory over Gastelum on UFC 316 rubbed many fans in the wrong way, after a matte show from both hunters in the Octagon. Joe Rogan was particularly critical of Pyfer's performance, after asking why Pyfer was not more aggressive after earning an early knock -down.

Despite the pyfer on and down in the Octagon, the UFC star will be confronted with another rising competition for his next fight on the UFC 320 Undercard.

For Pyfer it is again a shot to earn a middleweight top 15 spot while preparing for Magomedov. Magomedov is currently number 14 on the newest middleweight ranking of the UFC.

Pyfer started with a hot start of his UFC official period with three consecutive finishes on Alen Amedovski, Gerald Meerschaert and Abdul Razak Alhassan. The loss for Hermansson broke a five-fog winning series.

The UFC also only announced a few weeks ago that UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili will return to the UFC 320 Co-Main event against Cory Sandhagen. In the meantime, one of the headliners of the map collected a lot of praise from one of the largest combat sports.

The legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas claimed that Pereira has 'the best left hook' in the UFC, a lot of praise from someone who trained Mike Tyson and Tim Bradley. Pereira used the left hook to earn wild knockouts about Jamahal Hill, Jiri Procazka and Strickland.

Pereira will seek revenge against the UFC -light heavyweight champion Ankalaev in the UFC 320 Main Event. Only a few months ago Pereira suffered his first light heavyweight loss of Ankalaev, and a few months of uncertainty with regard to a rematch followed.
