New UFC rankings system created that boots Justin Gaethje, Shavkat Rakhmonov, Reinier de Ridder out of the top 5

Tapology has debuted its new UFC ranking system, and it has been seen that some remarkable names Division -Division -Pikanders continue.

Not many topics are so consistently polarizing and discussed as the UFC rankings, which are used by top fighters to justify claims on title shots and others to ask themselves who offers the promotional opportunities.

The current rankings are determined by a select group of media members, most of whom come from few well-known local radio stations and points of sale. The system has long been due to a revision, with UFC CEO Dana White himself the most public criticism of the ranking for his recent voice habits.

Now one of MMA's best record sites has released its alternative.

Dana White is not happy with the latest update of the UFC Rankings and says he has a meeting this week to try to repair the ranking 😬

“The idiots strikes again. Khalil Rountree fights that bad ass fighting against Pereira, and the idiots keep him at #8.

Literally this week I have a meeting … pic.twitter.com/ldpvqmyf3l

Tapology reveals 'groundbreaking' system in the midst of criticism of official UFC ranking

White raged over the UFC rankings last October after he accepted Islam Makhachev that was placed above Jones on the Pound-for-Pound Ladder. Although he has rejected talking about the promotion, White teased AI rangers helped by Mark Zuckerberg instead.

However, the brain behind tapology has rejected artificial intelligence as a potential answer to the issue. Instead, the registration site has introduced a new system that he claims to be eliminated from the process.

A remarkable difference with the official UFC ranking is the inclusion of each hunter in every division. Although the promotion has only been arranged 15 contenders, Tapology has ordered every hunter in their weight classes.

The rankings were released on August 4 and many eyebrow increases are visible compared to the UFC ranking. Among those who are supposed to be arranged too high on the basis of Tapology's statistics, Welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov, who is four places is worse off at number 7.

Reinier de Ridder recently beat Robert Whittaker to break into the top five of the middleweight, but the new tapology system would return 'the Dutch Knight' to no. 6.

On 155 pounds, Justin Gaethje would now take a hit like the UFC to take the system. While Gaethje says that he owes a title shot, Tapology has dropped 'The Highlight' from the top five of No. 6.

Great announcement! Our groundbreaking Tapology UFC rangers are now live. These are the most comprehensive, unbiased UFC hunter rankings that you will find. This own scoring system does not use voices from fans and no opinions. It is now live on https://t.co/1YBRZ4U3P9.

Founder of Tapology explains that the UFC ranking system is that is in the making for 5 years

Founder Gregory Saks from Tapology spoke with Ben Fowlkes for non-crowned to describe the long five-year process that went to create a system that he claims to be completely unbiased and 'not emotional'.

“We want the system to be consistent and emotional,” said Saks. “That sounds a bit boring and robot -like, but it is, we think, the best when you talk about rankings.

“The early versions were not successful and not very good. Like many people who are there, both kinds of hobbyists who love statistics and play with data, as well as serious people who perform websites about these types of things, we started with an ELO assessment system because this is a kind of mathematical approach for how to rank competitors in competitions.

“These are used in chess and tennis. These used to be used for university football. The ELO reviews are a bit the standard place to start. We tried that and we didn't get any results that were acceptable,” Saks added. “I mean, much of it would look good, but then you would have way too many things that were just ridiculous, where a hunter that nobody would think was a top-15 hunter would not even appear close to number 3 for a strange reason.”

Although SAKS would not reveal the “secret sauce” that created the end product, he has the honesty and ability to help those outside the top 15 in the UFC pursue logical matchups.

“We believe that the new tapology system, with rankings for the entire division, can give new exposure and ammunition to athletes who are not in the top 15 of the media rangers,” said Saks. “Now they can say:” Hey, I am no. 17 or no. 22 in Tapology, so I'm right on the CUSP. ” And maybe they can use that for their PR campaign to justify why they think they need a larger fight or a more attractive fight.

“We also think that it can hopefully play a useful role for fans who try to just give meaning behind what they look at. Now they will understand why every fight means something because the winner in this ranking can rise.

“But also the hunters and their teams (can use it) to justify why they might have to stand in line for a larger fight,” he concluded.
