Barcelona has had several problems this summer to tackle, and one of them has been the state of playing with the Spotify Camp Nou. The club had expected to be able to play their first home game of the season, against Valencia on MD4, in their home stadium, but Hope has faded in recent weeks.
Initially, Barcelona wanted to be home again in November 2024, but that soon became impossible. Further goals of February and May 2025 were set, but these were also excluded, with the new plan for a return for their first La Liga match of the 2025-26 campaign, which is in September.
For this was the hope that Barcelona will accommodate 60,000 supporters, which would have a significant effect on their income from the MatchDay – which helps with their financial misery. However, this is currently not possible, and that is why they have now assessed to accommodate half of that amount.
And according to MD, the chances of returning to the Spotify Camp Nou for the Valencia match have now risen, with the adapted license approved by the Barcelona city council.
That is why Barcelona now has a clear indication that they can play home games in the Spotify Camp Nou. The club will inform the city council, La Liga, and UEFA of its intention to play the entire season in the stadium, with a response from the authorities within 2 to 3 weeks.
However, Barcelona must have completed work in the coming two weeks in the areas in which they intend to have fans present, so that they can receive the certificate of completion of the work. This can be submitted in addition to their proposal, which would give a much better chance that their requests will be approved.
