Arsenal wants to redeem a number of Fringe players this summer, but Jakub Kiwior does not move to Porto
Allegedly, Porto pulled himself out of a deal to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior after the Balking at the asking price of the Gunners. There are several margin players who wants to sell Arsenal this summer and Kiwior seems to be one after the addition of Mosquera. Kiwior made 21 starts in all matches last season and was a target for Porto, according to a Bola.
The report states that Porto Arsenal approached a deal for Kiwior, but the Gunners said they were only willing to sell the defender for € 30 million (£ 26 million). As a result, Porto focused their attention on the international teammate Jan Bednarek of Kiwior.
And Bednarek has become a member of Porto for a four-year-old deal from Southampton, who only spends £ 6.5 million to the 29-year-old. “Winning every game is the most important thing,” said Bednarek after he arrived at the club.
“Winning every duel, every tackle, grabbing any occasion to score goals. We have to seize those opportunities with both hands. That will lead us to something extraordinary this season. In the end, as a club and as a big family, we will achieve something great.”
It is still to be seen what the future is in store for Kiwior, who was previously described as 'exceptionally' by Arsenal Mikel Arteta. Arteta said in May: “He earns a lot of praise because he has not played too much for many months.
“And suddenly he is thrown into the most difficult context, at the highest level, and he plays against the best opponents, if you have not had the physical rhythm or confidence to do it, and I think he has been exceptional.”
Arsenal is also working on a deal to sell midfielder Fabio Vieira to Stuttgart after he had spent on loan in Porto last season. According to athletics, the two clubs still have to reach an agreement, but conversations will continue.
Vieira came to Arsenal from Porto in 2022, but made an effort to play, and only made 17 starts in all games before he came to Porto again last season. The 25-year-old scored five goals and made six assists in 42 performances for Porto.
