Former UFC champ picks apart Din Thomas’s ‘disaster’ comments about a Khamzat Chimaev title reign

A former UFC champion believes that analyst Din Thomas is far from the basis with his Khamzat Chimaev posture.

The long -awaited shot by Khamzat Chimaev on UFC Gold will come later this month against middleweight champion DRUS DU PLESSIS on UFC 319. Chimaev earned the title shot after the middleweight wins on Robert Whittaker and former UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Although Chimaev has been one victory removed from winning a UFC title, a top analyst believes that a victory at UFC 319 Doom would spell for the promotion. Din Thomas referred to Chimaev's lack of fighting activity in recent years as a potential 'disaster' if the undefeated competition wins the belt.

Since April 2022, Chimaev has only fought three times due to health and travel-related problems. But with his health problems behind him, Chimaev is ready to reach the pinnacle of UFC Superstardom.

Belal Muhammad: Din Thomas 'Way Off' on Khamzat Chimaev Stance

Thomas 'comments made mixed reviews from fans and experts, with some cladding with Thomas' attitude because of the inconsistent scheme of Chimaev. But a former title holder believes that Thomas is far from the basis in his position and believes that a Chimaev title win would be a huge success story for the UFC.

In a recent video that was uploaded to his YouTube channel, former UFC champion Welterweight Belal Muhammad on Thomas responded.

“I don't know what the Fudge Din Thomas is talking about, he's finished here,” Muhammad began.

“I think it will be one of the biggest things for the UFC if Chimaev wins the belt. I think he will probably be one of the biggest stars and superstars that the UFC has … He has all the invincible appearance about him.

“The aura only gets bigger, especially when he goes outside and Dryus dominates, who is in a hot series.”

Muhammad then predicted that Chimaev could win in a surprising way at UFC 319.

“I think he can go outside and finish him dominant, or even as Khabib said, just strikes him,” Muhammad explained.

“I think he can surpass him. I think he will look it easy if he keeps it up. Yes, Dricus has a chin, he has cardio, he has an uncomfortable style, he has toughness, but I think Chimaev is a lot cleaner.”

The last knockout victory of Chimaev came in September 2020 against the middleweight Gerald Meerschaert. Since then, three of the last five victories from Chimaev have come through submission, with two fights for decisions.

Chimaev's failed weight cut at UFC 279 left many fans acid on the Chechen. But since he has made the full -time switch to middleweight, Chimaev has not missed a weight, and a former heavyweight believes that he can fight in the heavyweight division one day.

UFC fans interrogated the choice of Dricus du Plessis for the hardest opponent prior to UFC 319

Du plessis vs. Chimaev is one of the biggest fighting in recent UFC history, although the reigning UFC Middleweight champion one hunter for Chimaev for difficulty in terms of difficulty.

In the run -up to UFC 319, Du Plessis claimed that Israel Adesanya was his toughest opponent, despite submitting him to UFC 305. Du Plessis admitted that he was 'nervous' for the fight and struggled to deal with Adesanya's various striking arsenal in the early rounds.

UFC fans were immediately skeptical about the comments of Du Plessis after completing Adesanya in their UFC 305 fight. Some believe that Sean Strickland has taken the most difficult test of Du Plessis's career after their closely affected fight on UFC 297.

Du Plessis is, just like Chimaev, unbeaten in the UFC -Tachthoek. He will continue to make his middleweight goat shop on UFC 319 later this month.
