PFL Heavyweight Alexander Romanov raised eyebrows with a unique idea for the next boxing fight by Francis Ngannou.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou plans to resume his boxing career later this year and to put his time in MMA for an indefinite period of time. Ngannou has no longer fought in MMA since he ended PFL champion Renan Ferreira last year through TKO 2023.
Various top names have been presented for the boxing return from Ngannou, including a potential confrontation with Deontay Wilder. Ngannou and Wilder have both entertained a potential fighting booking for their next fighting.

Alexander Romanov wants Francis Ngannou to be back in Boks opposite Daniel Dubois
Wilder returned a triumphant return to the ring by eliminating Tyrrell Anthony Herndon in Wichita last month. It was a strong bounce-back version for Wilder after losing in four of his previous five fights.
Ngannou, who is still looking for his first professional boxing gain, could experience another Star Knockout artist according to one of his PFL colleagues.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, PFL explained heavyweight finalist Alexander Romanov why he wants to see Ngannou fighting for the former heavyweight title holder Daniel Dubois for his next boxing match.
“Now boxing in heavyweight, Oleksandr Usyk is the biggest star. But I think a better matchup for Francis Daniel Dubois,” said Romanov.
“It would be better and a lighter matchup to combat Dubois, because Francis has a crazy power in his hands, super heavy bombs lands. And he could use that to stand out … His style corresponds well with Dubois, it's a good matchup because he is looking for just one heavy shot, not moving well on his feet.”
Dubois lost Van Oleksandr Usyk in their heavyweight title Rematch through the fifth round knockout earlier this month. Dubois was seen to organize a house party until late in the night just before his fight with Usyk, which made criticism of around boxing.
A matchup between Dubois and Ngannou can be logical for both parties. Ngannou did not fight in Boxing last year since a loss for Anthony Joshua by Knock -Out.

Alexander Romanov is fighting for a PFL World Championship on August 21
In the meantime, Romanov has been away from the biggest fight of his MMA career at the 2025 PFL World Tournament Finals. Romanov will be confronted with Oleg Popov for the PFL Heavyweight World Championship 2025.
Since leaving the UFC earlier this year, Romanov Tim Johnson has defeated and fought against a no-contest against Valentin Moldavsky in his PFL official period. During his time in the UFC, Romanov defeated the will of Rodrigo Nascimento and Blagoy Ivanov.
A former top heavyweight prospect, Romanov has the opportunity to not only win a prize of $ 500K, but also to add to his Bounce-Back campaign with a world championship.
