Kevin De Bruyne has opened the most important differences between Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte after leaving Manchester City and member of Napoli.
This year, De Bruyne is playing a season outside the Premier League for the first time in ten years after his move to the Italian giants, who welcomed the iconic playmaker with open arms earlier this summer.
After winning six Premier League titles and helping City to first lift the Champions League, the Belgian international says that he wants to earn the 25th trophy of his career during his first season with Napoli, who wants to defend their series A title.
De Bruyne is no stranger to be among legendary managers, who played under Jose Mourinho, Manuel Pellegrini, Dieter Hecking and of course Conte and Guardiola, whom he has spent eight years.
Speaking with Corriere Dello Sport opened the difference between Guardiola and Conte, which Napoli led to Glory last season.
“I would say that they are two different ways of playing: Pep is probably a bit more focused on ball control and possession, while Conte is a little more structured in his play and a lot focuses on mentality.
“Pep works more in the zonal area. There are a number of different things, but every coach has its own principles and characteristics.”
He was also asked about the great welcome that he received from Italian fans who called him the “king” in what the biggest arrival of the club so far is this summer.
“I'm not the king, I'm just a football player,” he said.
“I don't pay much attention to certain things. I try to do my work as well as possible, but of course it is nice to be appreciated.
“I hope I can continue to have a great career.”
