Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that the Gunners believe that this season will be different, because they strive to overcome a series of almost missers when winning silverware.
Arteta has not won a big trophy since he had lifted the FA Cup in his debut season in 2019/20.
However, he has transformed Arsenal into serial contenders for large trophies.
The men of Arteta have finished second in the Premier League for the past three years and reached the semi -final of the Champions League for the first time since 2009.
The pressure is now on the Spaniard to cross the line after another important investment in new players in the transfer window.
Almost £ 200 million was spent on new striker Viktor Gyokeres, midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, Center-Rug Crithian Mosquera, as well as winger Noni Madueke and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
“We know what our goals are and what we want to achieve this season is a big conviction in our ability to achieve that,” Arteta said to Villarreal in his program notes prior to Wednesday's pre-season.
“We have been very, very close in recent seasons and the entire team will determine whether we will achieve that or not.
“But at the same time we have to make sure that we do not lose sight of what we have to do every day to reach the levels we want.
“We have to set the requirements that we want in this goal, because that is the most important – the internal requirements must always exceed an external question. That is what we try to achieve every day.”
Arteta added that he wants his players to feel “invincible” at home thanks to a special bond with the fans of the club.
“We want our people to make contact with our players immediately, start building Momentum and start feeling that we are invincible at home,” he said.
“That we play here with such a passion, energy and connection with our people, that we will win the game.”
Arsenal starts their Premier League campaign on 17 August with a blockbuster trip to Manchester United.
