Manchester United has contacted Brighton to explore the conditions of a deal for midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to reports.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Seagulls, with 34 times in the Premier League and scored three goals in front of Fabian Hurzeler.
United, who is approaching in their third important addition of the summer in RB Leipzig -striker Benjamin Sesko, are among the many lovers of the Cameroon International and have made contact with Brighton via Intermediairs, has claimed a report.
According to athletics, the Red Devils have passed on their interest in the midfielder, who still has three years about his contract with an option to extend for 12 months at the Amex.
However, there is a recognition that a switch can be unrealistic this summer, given the unwillingness of Brighton to sell and the spending of United in this window.
The report claims that a movement is 'unlikely' for the young person, unless United is able to obtain a series of lucrative sales before the window closes at the beginning of next month.
After their gloomy campaign in the past term, United focused on strengthening their attack, recruiting Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for a combined fee of £ 133.5 million.
The addition of Sesko will bring their edition to nearly £ 200 million, the third highest in the division after Liverpool and Chelsea.
However, there is still a desire to improve their midfield ranks. United currently has Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer in their ranks, while Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo can also be used in the central midfielder positions in the 3-4-3 formation of Ruben Amorim.
