UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey's window for a potential return to the Octagon may not have been closed, according to a colleague -before star.
The departure of Ronda Rousey from the UFC was fast, abrupt and attracted a considerable part of the criticism of fans and experts. Rousey ran away after two consecutive losses for Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm.
Fast forward to 2025 and Rousey completed an impressive physical transformation after returning to training. One of her former UFC rivals, Cat Zingano, trained alongside Rousey in recent images.
Although Rousey is briefly connected to a comeback against MMA pioneer Gina Carano for women, nothing has come since she hung up the gloves. However, a UFC Hall of Famer's recent conversation with Rousey tells a different story.

Chael Sonnen claims to plan Ronda Rousey UFC Return against former opponent
In a recent video that was uploaded to his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen shared a recent conversation he had with Rousey with regard to a potential comeback.
“Ronda Rousey, goes back and fights the winner of [Amanda Nunes vs. Kayla Harrison]As long as the winner is Kayla, “Sonen said about Rousey.
“Now this is a story, and let me tell you what part of this I can confirm. I can confirm that the story came from Ronda. In this space it is always 'Ronda's camp, one of Ronda's people' … I understand those things. But that was it. The absolute inner circle of Ronda has let it know that she is the winner of Amanda and Kayla, as long as the Kayla.
“So in other words:” I will return to fight for the title, if Kayla needs an opponent “…[but] That is not how to fall back. “
Despite Sonen's claims, the UFC Hall of Famer believes that Rousey will not follow her alleged comeback plans to fight Kayla Harrison.
“It is an interesting psychology, I don't believe it will happen,” said Sonen.
“It is the rumor, however, although … If the word comes to Kayla that Ronda said that, that could have a number of hard feelings. The two know each other, those two worked together, supposed to have a kind of band.
“And when Kayla finds out, she will be half flattered and half P – from. Ronda versus Kayla, not only will not happen, Ronda Rousey competes on something at 135 pounds, also not happening.”
Harrison and Rousey once participated in Judo, with Rousey who dominated their meeting at the USA Championships 2005. Both women earned Olympic medals in Judo before they completely switched to MMA.
Harrison conquered the Bantamweight title of the UFC ladies by completing Julianna Pena earlier this year on UFC 316. She signed at the UFC last year after a long, decorated term of office in the PFL.
