Alan Shearer has claimed that Manchester United has been set up on a reversal in Fortunes in Ruben Amorim's first full season in the club.
After a gloomy start under Erik ten Hag last season, United opted for a change and the Dutchman fired in October with the club in the bottom half of the table.
The following month, Amorim from Sporting Lisbon arrived to turn the worst start of the club into a Premier League season.
The Portuguese were unable to breathe new life into the ailing campaign of United and when the dust settled, United finally finished in the 15th, two places lower in the competition table than the position they occupied when he arrived.
After a busy summer on the transfer market in which they seem to go to beat Shearer's beloved Newcastle when securing the signature of Benjamin Sesko, United will hope for a much more productive campaign this year.
And according to Shearer that is exactly what they will get.
The Premier League record goalscorer recently set up his predictions of 2025/26 on the record for Betfair.
“We are just over a week away from the Premier League who returns and I am really looking forward to it,” said Shearer.
'I think it has been a nice break, although Man City and Chelsea will not feel it after the club World Cup.
'You just have to look at some of the signs that are made and how much the top four have spent. It will be a fascinating season and I am really looking forward to it. '
Shearer predicted that United will eventually finish sixth this season, so that European football will bring to Old Trafford after a one -year break.
Whether United Chiefs would be satisfied with such an finish, since their important edition in the transfer market can still be seen.
At the top of the table, Shearer Arne Slot has supported to repeat his incredible success of his Maiden Premier League campaign by achieving a second consecutive title win.
Shearer claimed that Mikel Arteta will be forced to settle for the second for a fourth season, even though the Gunners finally brought in a leading striker this summer.
Manchester City and Chelsea are the rest of his predicted top four, while Shearer Newcastle has supported to claim fifth again.
While Shearer Manchester United supported to undergo a dramatic reversal in Fortunes, colleague English international Joe Cole was not that optimistic.
In his own Premier League predictions, the TNT Sport Pundit could only fit in the upper half, predicting the club will finish ninth.
In the meantime, the former United -midfielder Owen Hargreaves placed his former club on 7th.
Cole and Hargreaves agreed with Shearer's assessment of the title race, with both support from Liverpool to be on top of the league table again at the end of May.
However, it is bad news for the promoted clubs.
The last two seasons, all three promoted parties have not been able to avert the drop after earning a place in the upper flight.
Both Hargreaves and Shearer clearly do not see that trend that changes quickly, with both men predicted tables with Sunderland Burnley and Leeds in the bottom three.
Cole, however, claimed that the Burnley of Scott Parker does have what is needed to avoid the drop somewhat.
The triple Premier League winner claimed that the Clarets succeeded in staying outside the drop zone, with Wolves the unfortunate club to make room.
